Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm an elementary teacher. I enjoy visiting new places and learning about new cultures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a full time teacher at a local elementary school and attending Graduate school in the evenings. My focus is on language and literacy education. For pleasure, I enjoy being outside running or walking my dog, Molly. I love my job, working with students and getting to know them and their families. One thing I love about my job is the opportunity it allows me to travel during the summer. I love visiting new places. I've just recently returned from working in schools in East Africa.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many members of the church I grew up Mormon. However, my story is a little different because as a child my parents didn't attend the same church. My dad attended the Mormon church and my mom attended a Methodist church. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to decide which church I wanted to go to and having spent time in each church, I decided that I wanted to be baptized into the Mormon church. I continue to be Mormon because through the principles of the gospel I find peace, contentment, and strength. Being a member of the church has blessed my life in many ways. I know I have a loving Heavenly Father. I know that my Savior is Jesus Christ and he atoned for my sins. I know that my family can be together after this life is over. I know that I am a daughter of God who loves me.

How I live my faith

I'm currently the Relief Society President in my congregation. Relief Society is a world-wide women's organization that was organized to serve others by exhibiting charity. This opportunity to serve has blessed my life in more ways than I'm even aware of. Through my calling as Relief Society President I have the wonderful experience of watching other Mormons live their faith through their various actions and activities. Watching my friends serve others and care for those around us, helps my faith to increase and my desire to show love increase as well. I haven't always been in Relief Society. I've also had the privilege to work with the youth as a Girl's Camp leader. I've also been a Sunday School teacher and was involved with the church public affairs in my local community. Serving in church is one way I grow my faith. Other ways are not quite so organized and public. I also grow my faith by reading from the scriptures, saying personal prayers to my Heavenly Father, following the words of the prophet, and striving to be kind and empathetic toward others.
