Hi I'm Paul

I run, I bake bread, I think, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I graduated in Economics and Business, and genuinely enjoy learning. I've been reading nonstop since I was a kid, and my mother taught me that critical thinking is one of the highest virtues! I enjoy dissecting topics and really trying to understand truth. I love my wife, Kayla, and there's nothing more important to me than my little family. I believe that God placed all of us on earth to learn to love deeply and selflessly, and to learn to live by and seek eternal truths.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it works. I have never met someone who lives the Gospel with their whole heart who is unhappy! It's amazing to me that God's promises are true - that if we follow them, He really does give us everything that we could possibly need. I also am a member of this church because I know that to love God is to serve Him, and I have found how to serve in a Christlike way through watching the people in the Church. I also am Mormon because I have received so many confirmations from God that He wants me here. I am sure that this is the way that He wants life to be lived, and there's nothing more important to me.

How I live my faith

Living my faith means helping others. There are different ways to do this, but I love finding little ways to make someone else's day better. Whether it's visiting someone regularly or finding some way to let someone else know that God loves them, I feel close to God and that I'm part of His work. I also live my faith by learning about it. There is so much to be learned about how God lives and works and is a part of my life, and the more time I invest in learning about how He tries to speak with me, the more I realize that He does. There's nothing better.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Paul
Family is important to the Church for many reasons, which I'm sure that you can find on the Church website - I want to talk about why family is important to me as a member of the Church. I see so much hurt that comes from dysfunctional families. When families fall apart through betrayal, abuse, negligence, or even just lack of time together, I see what happens to our society. I see the family as the basis for what happens in the world. We can see direct effects from family life to the moral foundation of individuals, and I feel that without this moral foundation, we can't expect the health of society to continue. Morals like selflessness and giving; like initiative and work; like personal responsibility for actions. All of these come from the home! My wife and I want to make sure that our children know what is right and wrong, and what true good is. As mormons, we know that as our family is strengthened, so will be our community, and that's why we emphasize the family. Show more Show less
