Hi I'm Sharleen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California in a mormon family as the 6th of 7 children. I have always enjoyed singing and dancing and through various church and school activities I've had a lot of fun opportunities to perform. I'm currently a happy wife of 30+ years, a proud mother of two wonderful sons and two beautiful grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

While growing up, my parents provided a wonderful example to me of what it meant to be a Mormon and I have always wanted to follow that example. I found that as I followed them as they followed Christ's teachings I was happy. Instead of feeling like I had to find my way or find out who I was, as so many of my peers were struggling with those issues, I was content. I knew I was a daughter of my Heavenly Father and that as long as I followed Him, He would not lead me astray. Although there has been a bump or two in the road along the way, I trust in Him even more now as I have grown in my understanding of His love for me. I know He is my Father and that He loves me and wants me to return to Him. I know that Jesus Christ came to earth to show me the way to do that and that through His atonement it is possible. I know that as I continue to read His words in the scriptures, especially in the Book of Mormon, and as I continue to pray, I will receive the help I need to find my way in this life and in all that I do.

How I live my faith

My days and years have been full with so many wonderful experiences. My training is in education and I've had many opportunities through work and church to teach and I love it. Most recently I taught a scripture study class for high school students each morning before they went to school and it was an awesome experience! Now I'm a leader in the church women's organization responsible for our Sunday lessons, so I get to teach the teachers! I also love the opportunity I have to go and visit other women in thier homes and leave them with a message of encouragement and love each month. I've made some wonderful friends over the years through those visits. I cherish this organization of women.

In whom should we have faith?

Our first Article of Faith states that we believe in God the Eternal Father and in His son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. In order to come to that belief or knowledge we first need to have faith and believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior. That he alone came to live on this earth to provide an example for us and to suffer and die for us. As we pray to our Heavenly Father to know that Jesus Christ did come to rescue us, the Holy Ghost, who is also known as the Comforter and the Testifier, will bring peace to our hearts and our minds that it is true, that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. That by Him and through our belief in Him we can not only make it through our trials in this life, but we can make our life better, sweeter, happier than we could ever imagine. If we trust in Him, and act accordingly, he will bless us. I know because he has blessed me more than I deserve! I'm so grateful that I have a loving Father in heaven and a Savior who made it possible for me to return to Him. Show more Show less
