Hi I'm Cindy

I skateboard, I'm a missionary, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life and everything in it. Literally. I kinda just like doing everything. I study industrial design, I work as a ski instructor in the winter and have a habit of working at youth camps during the summer teaching art and waterfront activities. I just really like the outdoors. I play soccer, I skateboard, I like to read books, and I've recently developed some new hobbies of singing and cooking really good food.

Why I am a Mormon

I think everybody gets to a point in their life where they begin to desire to improve upon their lives and come to define what it is they really believe. And sure, I went to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with my parents my whole life but none of it really stuck really well. Through out jr. high, high school, and college I came to have a lot of different groups of friends, and truthfully, those that lived the principles taught by their Mormon faith, and their examples encouraged me to want to improve upon myself. So, I decided to read the Book of Mormon, and pray to my heavenly father if it was true, and I received my answer, which for me was, a good warm feeling entered into my heart and a confirmation in my mind that I was in the right path and should continue forward so I did. Of course, I’ve had more trials of my faith since then, but they’ve helped me to grow stronger in both my testimony, and of myself. They’re related. And have helped me to have greater faith in my Savior Jesus Christ, and a hope that everything will always work out if I choose the right and am obedient to God’s commandments and follow his counsel.

How I live my faith

I think life’s about becoming something and there’s a lot of distractions in the world that keep us from remembering our purpose here on earth, which is, to learn to become like our Savior Jesus Christ. He showed us the example, and willingly sacrificed his life so that even though we don’t live perfect lives, we can have the hope to overcome our shortcomings as we learn to become more like him. So for me, I try to choose everything I do on that basis, if this decision will help me grow closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. So, right now I’m a missionary serving in the Jacksonville Florida Mission. We visit people from door to door and share this message with them that has come to mean so much to me. Here I have learned to put in practice principles Jesus Christ taught us… like patience, charity, love, and enduring to the end. Its hard work, and I love getting to know people from so many different backgrounds and beliefs, visiting their homes, and getting a feel for who they are, and helping them come to understand they’re children of a very loving heavenly father.
