Hi I'm Christie

I am a student and a writer of children's picture books. I haven't always been a Mormon, even though I was born in Utah.

About Me

I've always loved to read and write, but I let a few bad grades and a grumpy guidance counselor push me in another direction - until I reached college and my professor reminded me of what I really loved. I cannot deny how much I love writing, and I consider it a gift from God. I've attended writers conferences to improve my skills and learn the publishing industry. I hope to be a successful author some day.

Why I am a Mormon

I haven't always been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, though I grew up in Utah. As a young teen, I started to attend youth activities with my friends. The more I learned, the more I wanted the gospel to be a permanent part of my life. I was baptized nearly thirty years ago. It is God and his word, along with the love of my husband and children, that keep me afloat on life's raging sea. God softens my heart, sustains me, guides me, and fills my spirit. I have learned that keeping his commandments is like following a map to a longed for destination. I know that I am a daughter of a Heavenly King and I can return to him some day.

How I live my faith

Currently, I work with the youth in my neighborhood. We plan fun, uplifting activities that help them to develop their talents, cultivate good relationships with one another and their families, and encourage them when they're down.
