Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a student, pianist, teacher, wife and new mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was recently married to my best friend for time and all eternity in the Seattle, WA Temple on December 30, 2011. I am a college student majoring in Piano Pedagogy. I love music! I especially love to teach music! I am soo excited to be able to one day have my own piano studio in my home. I love to be active. I enjoy volleyball, swimming, water polo, running etc. I also love to cook. As a college student, I don't have ton of time to make elaborate meals but I love to try new things and cook different foods from aroun the world. Most of all, I love spending time with my Husband!! :)

Why I am a Mormon

Some could say that I'm Mormon because my family is Mormon. But I'm not. After a lot of studying, pondering, praying and fasting, I have come to know for myself by the Holy Ghost that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. The doctrines taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints makes me happy! I can see a difference in my life when I follow the teachings of the Gospel with exactness. I am blessed to have the sweet truths of the Gospel in my life, when I live in a world that is lost and confused. I know where I came from, I know my purpose on the Earth and I know where I'm going. I love that the Gospel teaches that families can be together forever through the proper authority given to us by God. I love knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me, knows who I am and has a special plan for me. I'm humbled that my Savior was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, the Atonement, so that I could obtain eternal life and live with my Heavenly Father and family for eternity!!! This Gospel is true and I know that my Redeemer lives!

How I live my faith

One of the ways I live my faith is by heeding the word of God through our prophet, Thomas S. Monson. About a year ago, my husband and I were praying about whether or not we should start our family. We were both attending college at the time in very intensive majors and both working to try to pay for college without going into debt and just to provide daily living expenses. We had been praying a long time about starting our family when April Conference rolled around and we decided we'd try to get into the Saturday Morning session. Miraculously, ten minutes before conference started, we got tickets. The first two talks in the session we about having children and being parents. Our prayers were answered. It took a lot of faith to start our family. Now, we have a sweet little boy and I couldn't imagine life without him. Even though this year has probably been the hardest year of my life, I have seen innumerable blessings from our loving Heavenly Father because we followed the words of the prophet and answer to our prayers. I know that God loves us and that He has a plan for us. I know that when we try to follow that plan He blesses us. He helps us get through tough times like having a baby in the middle of a semester as a full time student, piano teacher, wife and mother. I know I can do all things with help from the Lord.
