Hi I'm Shelly.

I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm a photographer. I'm a nurse. I'm happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful husband who is just starting a medical residency for Otolaryngology (ENT) and is insanely busy! We have three amazing kids with whom I spend my days. I love to play with my kids, cook, read, watch movies, travel, play games, play sports, and spend time with family and friends. I went to college and graduated with degrees in nursing and business management. I stay home with my children, but also work as an amateur photographer on the side. Family is everything to me. It is my first priority and my greatest blessing.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was baptized when I was eight, there was a time in my life when I felt I needed to attain a deeper and more solid testimony of the gospel. I had just finished reading the account of Joseph Smith's first vision when at the age of fourteen he saw God and Jesus Christ. At that time I had a younger brother who had just turned fourteen years old and there was no way I could imagine such a thing happening to him. Suddenly the whole thing started to seem so impossible! I decided to make it a matter of prayer. For a week straight I read the account of Joseph Smith every night then prayed about it, sometimes multiple times throughout the day. I sincerely wanted to receive an answer. I was young and had my whole life ahead of me. I wanted to be absolutely certain that the path I would take would be where God wanted me to go. After a week, nothing happened. I returned to my regular scripture studies, but continued to ponder and search me feelings about Joseph Smith. About two weeks later I was sitting in church when someone shared their testimony about Joseph Smith. A burning sensation began to grow in me and I was suddenly choked up to the point of tears. I knew that I was being answered through the feelings of the Holy Ghost. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is the true church of God on the earth today. I know Joseph Smith was the prophet called by God to restore His gospel to the earth today. It is true!

How I live my faith

I take each day at a time. I try to be patient, kind, and happy. I try to love others and serve them.
