Hi I'm LeAnn
I am from Utah but lived in three other states. I am a Mormon. I am a retired RN. I am a mother of 6 and grandmother of 32.
I met my husband in High School and we later attended college together. He then served a mission for our church in California and during this time I finished my studies in nursing. When he returned from his mission we were married in the Temple. He continued his studies and became a Pharmacist. I am a RN by profession and have work on and off through the years. I have been a ICU nurse and also a Hospice Home Health Nurse. I was able to be a stay at home mom most of the time; which was very important to me. We have 6 children, 32 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. We enjoy being with our large posterity as often as possible. We have lived in the following states, Utah, California, Nevada and Washington. I enjoy doing Family History work and have completed a history of my parents and I am working on a history of my husband's parents. We have been temple ordinance workers and love going to the temple. This is a place of refuge from the storms of life. I enjoy keeping a journal. I like to play the piano and I loved to read. The Book of Mormon is my favorite book. I have read it several times. I enjoying blogging and I have a missionary blog where I can discuss my feelings about my faith. In each area we have lived; we have had wonderful opportunities to serve in our church. We have recently been called to serve as Member Leadership Support missionaries. We are very excited to have this opportunity in our lives.
Why I am a Mormon
I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I was very young my father was not active in the church and my mother was semi-active. However, my two brothers and I usually attended church. The atmosphere in our home was very contentious. My Father became very ill and our Grandpa was sent to come and give him a priesthood blessing. Later my father told us that during the blessing his whole life flashed before his eyes and he could see how he was treating his family. From that day on with some fellow-shipping by our Bishopric; my father became active in the church. A year later our family went to the temple to be sealed as a family forever. I was only 7 years old at the time; but it had a profound impact on me. I could feel the change in the Spirit in our home. Later on my father was called to be a Stake Missionary. He practiced the lessons on my mother and me. I felt the Spirit of those lessons and as I continued to mature I knew the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. I know we have a Prophet today; President Thomas S. Monson. I love to give service in the church and have had many callings that have helped my testimony grow. I love the temples and find great peace within the walls of those sacred places. I have had many experiences where prayers have been answered. I have received priesthood blessings where I have been healed of afflictions. Two of our Granddaughters had severe medical conditions where prayers and priesthood blessings have brought about miracles I am grateful that we have a forever family and we feel blessed that our children are all active in the gospel. In today's world; I am so grateful for my testimony. My favorite scripture is in Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths". I believe this scripture to be true and it has given me peace many times during my life.
How I live my faith
I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I love to serve in our church. Through the years I have had some wonderful opportunities to teach as well as leadership opportunities. I have enjoyed the calling of a Visiting Teacher. We are assigned a partner and we visit assigned sisters monthly and as needed with the purpose of watching over and caring for them when they have needs. I love getting to know these sisters and becoming friends with them. My husband and I served as Inner City Missionaries. We loved this unique opportunity in our lives. We made many friends and worked hard to help those in need find resources to help better their lives. Everyday, I love communicating with my Heavenly Father in prayer. When I was young my grandmother used to tell me to always carry a prayer in my heart. I have had many answers to prayers through the years. Sometimes, the answers don't come in the way I think they should or even hoped they might. In retrospect the answers were to help me learn and grow in faith. I enjoy reading the scriptures and I have found answers to questions in those sacred books. I especially love the Book of Mormon and have read it over many times. I love the opportunities that I have to bare my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those I come in contact with in my everyday life. I enjoy researching family history. I have kept a journal for the past 38 years; which has blessed my life. I have been a ordinance worker in the temple for several years. My husband and I have enjoyed these precious opportunities. We love serving in the temple I enjoy creating traditions in our family. We have a large posterity and some of my greatest joys are when I can be with them. We have been called to serve a full time mission and look forward to many spiritual experiences and opportunities to meet and share our testimonies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
