Hi I'm John

I love music,playing guitar, Video games, I'm a kiwi and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born in Auckland, New Zealand Never been anywhere except there till about last year when i came to Australia. I love hanging out with my family and friends, playing video games, listening to music, playing the guitar, using acronyms even when it would be faster just so say the words, taking pictures of stuff but im one of the people that are to lazy to carry a camera around, sleeping is always good I love my technology, especially apple, they just keep bringing out epic stuff. the color green, comics/super heros etc yes im a geek, pieces of paper with numbers and pictures on it A.K.A money P My life has been really adverage, nothing special, just nice quite and normal, the only thing not normal about my life is ME!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a morman family, when i was about 14 i stoped practising the faith and decided to 'take a break' stupid choice looking back. after about 2 years i found that life wasent as happy as it used to be. My life wasent going in the direction i wanted it to go. I wanted some guidance, i wanted a way of life that could brong me happiness, i had a little bit of faith so hen i was 16 i decided to find out if it was all true, i read 'the book of mormon' and prayed to know if it was true and if the church of jesus christ was true. I recieved and answer from God that it was and that if i followed its teachings i would be happy, i know this is waht god wants me to be doing, since that day i have never looked back. This way of life has helped me to find that happiness and direction i was looking for and has helped me accomplish things i never thought were possible. Through Experience i lernt that this way of life brings the most peace and happyness, thats all i want, i think thats all anybody really wants, they just dont know where to find it.

How I live my faith

Being a mormon is not just something you do on sunday, its a way of life, the best one is you ask me, its such a great lifestyle. The first thing i do when i wake up - apart from destroying my alarm clock.. say a prayer. Its a great start to the day. I try to follow the example christ set for us, i live my faith by following Jesus Christ and trying to become the type of person he was. Fearless in the face of challenge and trial, patient when misunderstood, loving when hated, serving others when he was in fact the king of heaven and earth, humble, forgiving when offended, unrelenting against temptations or peer pressure, calm when in the midst of chaos. Thats what christ wants for us, he wants us to be able to do that to, thats why he asks us to follow him. The invitation to follow christ is to BE like he is. Thats why we have the gospel of jesus christ, that is its purpose, it will take time and effort, more than this life time can give me, but ill get there, with christ at my side, ill get there. Its also why i choose to serve as a volunteer missionary for The Church Of Jusus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, to help others "come unto christ and perfected in him" like the bible teaches.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

John
Grace simply means 'Divine help or assistance' We cannot return to live with god through our efforts alone, we will all fall short of the mark. We need gods help if we are going to return to live with him, thats why he sent Jesus Christ into the world. We need Christ, we need Grace (divine help) if we are going to return to the presence of God. Grace however is not a free gift. Our heavenly father is a fair God, a God of justice. It would be unfair of him to expect more than we can give but equally unfair for us to give less then what we have. Grace does not come for free, we need to obtain it. We obtain Grace (gods help) by following his son Jesus Christ and keeping his commandments. As we keep commandments we qualify for grace. Christ promised all his faithful followers a Devine gift, it is called the "Gift of the Holy Ghost' The Holy Ghost (also called the holy spirit) is the 3rd member of the Godhead. After being baptised you receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, it is promised as a constant companion as you keep the commandments. That sounds like Grace to me, a member of the Godhead leading me and guiding me through life. God always provides. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

John
Because it is the word of god, it contains 'the gospel of Jesus Christ' Which is gods way of life, his plan of happyness for us. the bible is a record of mans dealing with god from Adam down to christ and a little after. We Believe the Bible becuase it testifies to all the world that Jesus is the Christ, the promised messiah, the redeemer of all mankind. I like the old testiment for all the wierd stuff that happens, haha and the new testiment becuase it is a record of the life, ministry and death and ressurection of Jesus Christ. The Bible also gives us the blue print for the organisation of the church christ established. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

John
Eternal life, or Exaltation is how the scriptures define the type of life that God lives. We believe that God is perfect in every way, shape and form and that we are his children. His desire is for us to experience the same exsistance or lifestyle that he enjoys. He sent us to earth for that purpose, this earth life is just one step in gods plan to help us become like him and enjoy the life he has. Heavenly Father sent his Son Jesus Christ into the world to make this all possible, we will all make mistakes and need someone else to help make up the short fall. Through Jesus Christ we can all return to live with god again but we must follow and live his teaching if we want to recieve this blessing Show more Show less
