Hi I'm Stephen

I'm from Idaho, I make movies, I love to laugh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I am studying film and humanities. I have been a member of the church since I was 8, but I started actually going around 12 years old.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was about 12 years old, I began to feel a greater sense of urgency, like there was something I needed to be doing that I wasn't, or something I needed to know that I didn't. I never went to church, so i didn't understand much of the religion, but I have prayed as customary before meals at large family events, and I had heard throughout my life from countless people that God answers your prayers through his spirit, So I decided to pray to ask God if he were there and if I needed to improve my life. The answer came back to me in a physical feeling. Like the hallway I was sitting in was filled with liquid love. It was a feeling of complete satisfaction, like all around me was a tone of assurance and protection and love from an external source. I have followed impressions that are like the feelings that I felt that one day and all of them have lead me to where i am now.

How I live my faith

I am currently going to college and living in an apartment complex that is jam packed full of Mormons. I work closely with three other guys to make sure that all of the individuals in two of the buildings in the complex are looked after. We organize activities for everybody to get to know each other. We pray for others, and visit them to get to know them and try and make sure everybody is having a good time in life. If they aren't doing well we work together to try and ease pain or help conditions so that they can get back on their feet, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Stephen
There are many truths and gifts that God has brought back to the earth that are essential for us to live fulfilling lives and afterlives. But because there is so much information in the world with so many competing voices grabbing for your attention, it's hard to be sure which voices or information are for our benefit or are meant to harm us.The book of Mormon is a collection of ancient manuscripts (written from 600AD-400BC) from the American continent that claim that the Jesus born in the Middle East is the Son of God. These manuscripts were written in a dead language, but they were translated the power of God through a man named Joseph Smith. God gave this evidence to mankind as a merciful act of clear evidence that we can hold and pray about to see if it is legitimately from God. If it is from God then it means God really has revealed gifts and truths to the earth, and we know where to find em! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Or in short... The Mormon Church! It's a beautiful thing :) Show more Show less
