Hi I'm Nick.

I was born and raised in southern California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I mostly grew up in California, but when I was twelve my family moved to Arizona. Growing up I played a lot of waterpolo, and in high school I was on the swim team. I am the fourth child out of six, and I have four sisters and one brother. Even though I am the fourth child, I am the oldest boy. My family is very close and we love to spend as much time together as possible. I plan on studying in college to be a doctor, as of right now I would like to be an anesthesiologist, but plans could change. I also would like to study as much as I can about computers... Im a tech geek.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my whole family is Mormon. Not really... but that is how it was at first. As a kid I went to church becuase my family did, and I loved my family and I wanted to be with them, so I went to church with them every sunday. When I came to be about 18 years old I started thinking about serving a mission for the church. I realized that I needed to find out for myself if the church was true or not, because I can't go preach the gospel if I don't even know if its true. So I went about searching for that answer, and through diligent study and prayer, I came to know for myself that the church really is true. It wasn't a grand and sudden change that happened to me, or any kind of super spiritual experience, but it was more like I realized some important things that testified to me the truth of the church. The things I realized were the things that my family had been teaching me all my life. My parents were perfect examples for me in being obedient to all the teachings of the prophets, both from ancient and modern times. One of the most important things they taught me was the importance of the family. Because they applied all these teachings, especially the teachings of the family, there was always love and peace in our home, even with six kids growing up together. So some of the things I realized was that the family is one of the most important things the church teaches about, and in the family you learn some important things about our relationship with God. That love and peace exists in the home when there is obedience and understanding between the children and the parents. Likewise, that same love and peace exists in our souls when there is obedience and understanding between us and our Heavenly Father, becuase we are all His children. Like any good father should, our Heavenly Father loves us and teaches us through His prophets, but if we don't head His teachings, that love and peace can't exist. These were the important things that I realized as I studied and prayed to find out if the church was true, and everytime I think about these things I feel those feelings of love and peace. I learned to recognize those feelings as feelings of the Spirit, and because I know that I am feeling the Spirit I know that these things are true. I thought about these things so much that I began to have the desire to help other people apply these teachings in their lives so that they could have the same kind of family that I have, and so that they can feel the same love and peace in their lives that exists in mine. And now Im on a mission! But overall, I found the answer I was looking for by studying and praying, and I know that the things I learned came through the power of the Holy Spirit, and for that reason I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by applying all the teachings of the prophets in my life. When I wake up each morning the first thing I do is pray, and after getting ready for the day I study the scriptures. I have come to learn that it is almost impossible for me to learn about all the mysteries in the scriptures, but every time I learn something new I get my mind blown. As a missionary for the chruch, I also study things that I need to teach to all the people I deal with, both members of the chruch and non-members. Every time I put a good effort into studying the scriptures I will always learn something new, and I will always get a chance during the day to share what I learned with someone else. So everyday I live my faith by living the teachings of the gospel, and also by helping other people live those same teachings.
