Hi I'm Sister Prest

I love my family, I love the great outdoors, I'm a flute player, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town. On the weekends my friends gather at my place for things like bonfires and volleyball during the summer and during the winter we play games inside like Twister and Apples to Apples. My favorite memories are of my cousins. We've made silly home videos and built forts and gone for hay rides. We've learned from Grandpa the importance of hard work and from Grandma the way to love life. I enjoy learning. I am a music education major with an emphasis in band. My major instrument is the flute, and my favorite part of playing is the rush that comes from an excellent performance. I've put my education on hold for eighteen months, however, and am currently serving as a missionary for the Church. I love the people I'm serving more than I ever thought would be possible, and have never found more fulfillment than I have now in full-time service to God and my fellow humans. I have always been grateful to God for my high level of energy and to have a body that is healthy and works. I enjoy running, riding my bike, playing soccer, hiking, swimming, and the like.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who raised me in the Church and taught me to follow God's commandments. Reading the scriptures every single day has helped me be obedient even when it's hard and has helped me avoid many of the pitfalls of life. I know that my family is so happy together and gets along so well because each of us lives the things we're taught, which are praying always, studying the scriptures, and attending church faithfully. I know that through the Savior I can change for the better--I can resist temptations and Christ can fill the space with good things! Because of Christ, I always have hope for improvement even when it seems like I am in a rut. I know that my family will be together even after we die because we are living the things we're taught. My cousins are a great source of strength for me. We know that we have something so precious: This Gospel, and we have helped eachother both informally and formally to have strong testimonies of the Savior and the Atonement. I am so grateful to know of the Plan of Happiness which will ensure that we can be together forever as a big happy family!

How I live my faith

In the past I've played the organ for church, taught the three-year-olds, taught a Sunday school class for new members of the church, and been the official gatherer of the young single adults in my ward. Right now I am a missionary! That means I spend every day, all day, for 18 months teaching everyone I meet how to find real, lasting happiness.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Sister Prest
Joseph Smith was the man through whom the Lord restored his own church. Joseph was only 14 when he was concerned for his personal salvation and asked God which church was right, and which he should be baptized into. The answer turned out to be more complicated that he expected--he was told by Jesus Christ Himself that none of the churches were right. As he grew up he was visited by heavenly messengers--angels--who taught him things he'd need to know for the persecution and miracles he'd see in his lifetime. He was a strong man--spiritually and physically. He never once doubted. He was honest and good. He was the first prophet since the time Christ's 12 disciples were killed. Show more Show less
