Hi I'm Landon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Atlanta Georgia. I like being outdoors and playing sports. My favorite sports are golf, basketball and wakeboarding. I'm a sucker for country music, and love to just kick back and hang out with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. It has always been the most important thing in mine and my family's life. We have always enjoyed the blessings that come from this gospel. It has given me so much peace to know why I'm here and where I'm going in this life and the life to come. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that gave me my family, and I know that my family will be together forever meaning we will still be together even after we die. I am thankful for Jesus Christ and His Atonement, so that I can be forgiven of my sins and overcome any hardship that comes my way. I know that it is only through Him and this Gospel that we can truly be happy. This Gospel means the world to me, I don't know where I would be without it in my life, it has blessed me so much.

How I live my faith

Me and my family have always been active, and it is so much fun going to church every week and feeling the influence of the Holy Ghost. It is also fun being able to associate with people that share the same beliefs as I do. Probably the biggest way I live my faith is trying to be Christ like, and extending a hand to serve others. I love to serve others, it is a great way to get to know and meet new people. I would have to say that I am living my faith the most I ever have, because I am serving a mission in Georgia, and I am trying to teach people what I know will bless their lives.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Yes, it is true that Christ appeared to the people on the North American continent after he was crucified and resurrected. In the bible he talks about him going to visit the "other sheep that are not of this fold," and he came to North America to show them what He did for them, by suffering for their sins too. We can read about this in the Book of Mormon, and it may sound way out there, but I know if we have an open mind and study it and pray about it, we can come to know it is true by the feelings of the Holy Ghost.    Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Yes, we believe that it is only through the grace of Jesus Christ that we can recieve our salvation. We do not on the other hand believe that all we have to do is to believe in Jesus Christ and He will take care of the rest. We need to have faith in Jesus Christ, which will then lead us to act. This action means that we will do all that we can to be as Christ would, such as, striving everyday to keep the commandments. When we fall short we always need to be repenting of all our wrong doings. We need to be baptized by proper prieshood authority just like Christ was. Then we need to do what He would do everyday of our lives. We need to work towards recieving that grace, because He isn't just going to give it to us. So yes we believe that the grace of Jesus Christ will save us, but it will save us only after all that we can do. Show more Show less
