Hi I'm Paul Wade

I grew up in Utah, USA. I love to fish, go camping, and sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old and going to school online through BYU-Idaho. Getting an education is very important to me personally and to my faith. I work full time and am just about to start a new job. I love camping, fishing, hiking, and spending time with friends. I hope to be married one day and raise a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know it's the path that will make me happy. I grew up in this church. During my life I have seen how this church can bless us. This church shows us the way to have a happy family in a world where that seems to be less than popular. I especially love the Book of Mormon because it gives me a peace of mind that I cannot find anywhere else. And last but not least, I love this church because it has helped me realize that I am a Child of God. Knowing that I have a Loving Heavenly Father helps me realize how Important I am. All of us are children of Heavenly Father and he loves us.

How I live my faith

Living our faith is not easy but we receive great blessings when we do so. I try to live my faith doing what our Savior Jesus Christ did. He spent his time serving others and helping them. That's what is emphasized in the Mormon faith. I'm also what's called the "Ward Sunday School President." My job is to make sure Sunday School is a place where we can feel close to our Heavenly Father and be uplifted.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Paul Wade
We work and save up money before we come out to serve a mission. We then give the money to the church and they give us a monthly budget. The rest of the money pays for utilities, gas, etc.  Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Paul Wade
The missionaries will speak to you about how our church came about. Also they will talk about the Plan of Salvation. The Plan of Salvation answers questions such as "Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going after this life? The Plan of Salvation is a Road map. Then they will talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ. This will show you the things we must do in order to gain salvation. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Paul Wade
The Bible says in John chapter 3 verse 5 that a man cannot get into heaven unless he is born of water and the spirit. Or in other words unless we are baptized. That's a pretty straight forward statement. What about those who lived and died without ever having a chance to be baptized? Would a just God condemn them to hell only because they never received an opportunity? God is just and he loves us. He wants us all to live with him after we die. That is why we perform baptisms for the dead. We do it as an act of love for those who have passed on. The Apostle Paul speaks about baptism's for the dead in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 29. Even in New Testament times it is clear that it was practiced. When we perform a baptism for someone that has passed on the person has to accept the work being done for them. Otherwise it is not valid. This way they still have the ability to choose for themselves. Show more Show less
