Hi I'm Amelia

I'm a runner, a group fitness instructor, a wife, a friend. I love laughter and life. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am in love with life! There are so many great things around us! I love the outdoors and playing in them. I like to be physically active and set an example by being a fitness instructor. I teach Zumba and Turbo Kick. I started running a few years ago and since then completed my first marathon! I also like to curl up to my husband for a good movie and a handful of TV shows we enjoy. I have a positive outlook on life because of my faith; I believe our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all of my life, however a testimony (your belief or conviction of our faith) has come to me a little at a time. I am always learning new things which strengthen and increase my testimony. Most recently I have been working with the young womens program in the church. I have the opportunity to teach girls ages 12-16 gospel topics. Lesson plans are about things like faith, honesty, dating, repentance and the family. Though basic in nature, I always learn something new in my preparations from the lessons, and even from these young girls. There are some amazing young people in the world and I am grateful that I get to be around them and also to have a small part in teaching them good standards.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be more Christ like each day. I pray daily and spend a few minutes reading talks from leaders of our church or the scriptures. I try to look for ways to uplift others, or to serve them. Life has hard times, no matter who you are, but my faith in the Savior helps me understand the bigger picture. I can overcome hard things because of my faith, and I am so grateful I have this knowledge.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

I am a planner in all aspects of my life. Sometimes there are things that happen or get in the way of your plans. We know that in the last days of the world that the earth will suffer calamities. We have seen this throughout the world with 9/11, Earthquakes, Hurricanes and Tsunamis. There are more frequent disasters and tragedies than ever before. Having a plan for my family and having food, clothing and essentials prepared for us puts my mind at ease. I know that we will be able to survive for awhile if a tradgedy were to happen to us. We could sustain ourselves, and may even be taken care of well enough that we could help someone else in a less fortunate position. Show more Show less
