Hi I'm Kara

I love traveling. I'm a middle school history teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying history teaching & music. I love singing and playing the violin and piano, being in the mountains, and eating ice cream. I also love to read! I love spending time with my family and enjoy traveling. I especially love spending time in London, United Kingdom. Good food, family, and friends are all I want in life! I work part-time as a student secretary for a Science Department at college and love helping people. I stay grounded by striving to follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church and know without a doubt that my faith has molded and shaped me into the person I am today. I learned early on that family is the key unit of society and that Jesus Christ is essential to my eternal salvation. As I became a teenager and life changed in so many ways, I found that these two things kept me moving in the right direction. My faith in the Savior Jesus Christ continued growing and as I studied the Book of Mormon I gained a testimony for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. The only thing that seemed constant sometimes was my Savior and His perfect love for me. Now, I'm at college, learning to enter the workforce and live on my own. I can make my own choices and decisions but still I find the greatest happiness when I am following the teachings of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon and will be to my dying day. I know my foundation on Christ will guide my life wherever I go. I'm so grateful for the knowledge and blessings I have in my life because of this Church.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each and every day. It is one thing to go to Church each Sunday and profess things on a snazzy internet informational sight; however, it is another to live what you believe in the quiet moments in your life, when no one is watching. I live my faith by beginning and ending each day with a prayer to my Heavenly Father. I do my best to have a meaningful study of the scriptures each day as well, which can be difficult on top of a huge college reading load. However, I have found that the peace and guidance I receive from doing these "extra" daily things far out ways any inconvenience in doing them. I also try to go to the temple once a week and spend time in the Lord's House. Getting away from the world and finding quiet time to ponder the things of eternal importance helps me keep the right perspective during my busy week. I love spending time with my family and I try to follow my Savior by being kind and considerate to others. I also enjoying serving others and making a difference in the lives around me; which is one of the reasons I feel strongly that I should pursue a career in education. I love my Savior Jesus Christ with all my heart and I know He lives. I'm so grateful to know that if I live worthy, I can live with my family forever. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith restored Jesus Christ's church in these latter days and that we have a living prophet on the earth today. I'm so grateful to know Heavenly Father's plan and know there's meaning in this life. My faith defines who I am and who I hope to become.
