Hi I'm Samuel

I'm a son, brother, student, and friend. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have lived in California most of my life. I have a big, awesome family and I love them to pieces. I like golf, music, math, and science. I am working on obtaining a degree in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University. I play the trumpet and hope to eventually learn the piano. I love hiking, especially to places where I can see the stars really good.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church which He has restored to the earth. I grew up in a town where the Church was not very popular, but as my parents raised me by taking me to church and teaching me what is right I have had only blessings in my life. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that through Him we can be cleansed from our sins and have joy and happiness for eternity. I am thankful for the ability that my family has to be together forever. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible the word of God and together they clearly teach the doctrines of the gospel. I know that this church is being led by Jesus Christ through a living prophet today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying the best I can to obey Christ's commandments. Going to church, praying, reading the scriptures, and following the other standards which have been given us. These tend to be regular things that I can do to exercise my faith. I, and Latter-day Saints in general, have been noticed as different or peculiar. That is because of the way I live. My friends and most of my class growing up have known me as the Mormon kid. They notice I don't do the things other people do or talk the way others do. All of this comes because of the way I raised and the standards which I have for myself. Not only do I live with high standards, but I try to do my best to help others by serving them. Service for others and trying to live a Christlike life is one of the biggest themes of the LDS faith.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The current prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. He is a great man who has come from a normal background and has been prepared by the Lord to fill that position today. I know that he and all of the apostles of the Church are called of God. Show more Show less
