Hi I'm Scott

I am from Texas and I love hockey. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Texas and I think it is the best. I am a missionary for the Church. Before that, I was attending college and studying biology. I hope to become a dentist or surgeon someday. I enjoy music and I play trumpet. I also love cycling and hope to get into playing hockey when I go back to college after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Originally, I was riased a member of the Church, but the main reason I'm a member now is because it makes sense. I have studied a lot and this is where I've found the most peace. I gained a testimony of the Church after I read the Book of Mormon for the first time and prayed about it. That did not really happen until I was around 15 years old. I was backpacking when I finished reading, so I went off into the woods a little ways and prayed to know if the Church was true. When I did I felt an overwhelming feeling that the Book of Mormon and the Church were true and that I had known it for a while. I just needed that confirmation from the Lord to really make my testimony sure.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I live my faith is I am currently serving a mission to help spread the blessings I've received. This invovles going around and talking to people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also work a lot with the local congregation and help them out when needed. As missionaries, we try to do volunteer service on a weekly basis. Some of that service has included service at hospitals, yard work, or other random acts of service. I feel that by doing this I help myself come closer to Christ.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Scott
Very sipmly, ward is a local congregation determind by geographical area. A stake is a group of wards. A branch is a smaller version of a ward, it is just in an area where the Church is not as large. Show more Show less
