Hi I'm Isaac

I grew up in a small town in nv. I enjoy the outdoors and staying busy. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old, I love the outdoors and playing sport, in 2008 I was the 1A/2A Nv state champion wrestler in the 189lb weightclass. That same year I also recieved my Eagle Scout award.Everything that I have been able to do in my life has truly taught me the importance of hard work and that what you put into life is what you will get out of it. Right now I am in australia and have been here for the past 2 years... soon I plan on returning home and signing up with the u.s. marine corps.... being a rifleman for my mos. I love my family and would be nothing without them..... I am a mormon

Why I am a Mormon

Well there are many reasons. The first one though is I have a deep love for God and His son Jesus Christ! So naturally I would want to be a part of their church to learn more of them and do my best to follow them each and every day. The church also teaches me the importance of having high values and doing my best in all that I do, just as Scouting did. I love serving other people and helping them in any way that I can. No other thing has had more impact on my life in helping me become the person that I am than the church and my parents who are also members. My mother was not raised up in the church but joined when she was in her 20'sand is a wonderful person as well as her family. But it is quite apparent that her family does not have the happiness that my family now enjoys, they don't understand much as to where did we come from, why are we here on this earth, and where do we go after we die. When a death occurs in the family they believe it is the end, which is very sad.... it often results in them trying to hide their pains through drinking alchohal and such things which only helps for a brief moment. But I know that one day they will see their family again, they will be with those they loved so much, and that Jesus Christ provided a way for that too happen... if only they knew? If only they could understand what Jesus Chrsit truly does offer us? And if only they knew that God has called a prophet in these last days to help them come to that knowledge and not have them wandering around in the dark their entire lives.

How I live my faith

Living the faith is quite easy. It is simply doing that which I know to be right and following the prophets council everyday. As I have done so; I have been able to experience true happiness that can last instead of just happiness for a brief moment. I do not look down on others if they are of another faith, that faith also is important..... but I have come to know for myself that this church has all the answeres so many people are searching for and haven't been able to find. When I have a question I can find someone in the church that has the answer and it does make sence and goes with what both the bible and the book of mormon says. Jesus Christ most importantly taught though that we should love God and then love our fellow men as ourselves. THAT IS HOW I LIVE MY FAITH!

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Well since we are followers of Christ we believe in the Bible. It contains the word of God as does other scriptures like..... The Book Of Mormon, The Doctrine And Covenants, and The Pearl Of Great Price. We know that God is... not was.... that he speaks... not spake. All these scriptures also show the love God has for all mankind, not only for the Jews but also for the Gentiles. Jesus Christ is the only way back to God our father, without him we could not return to live with God. Also Christ taught the importance of OBEDIENCE, if we are not obedient and do not follow all of his gospel then we are unclean and unable to live with God again. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

I myself served a mission in Adelaide Australia for the church. Before I went I had to save up a required amount so that my costs could be covered for my stay there during the 2 years..... so to cover this cost I worked a full time job for several years and put money asside . Missionaries are not paid for what they do, once they have this amount and are called to serve in a area of the world they then give that money to the church... Then the church gives them a monthly amount back so that those funds will last them the full 2 years instead of a missionary spending it all straightway. Show more Show less

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

On this mormon.org websight you can actually request for missionaries to come and visit you in your home or at a desired location you have to meet up with them. They are representatives of Jesus Christ and will answer questions you might have. Also on this websight you can look up the address of the nearest church near you where you can visit and someone there can direct you to someone that will be willing to answer questions you might have also. Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Prophets that lived in the ancient America's, just as was the Bible written by prophets that lived in Jerusalem. This record was later given to the prophet Joseph Smith whom translated this record into English by the power of God, because it was originally written in Hebrew and a form of Egyptian and Joseph Smith did not know those languages. Joseph Smith then under the direction of God and Jesus Christ then restored Jesus Christs church on earth again. Many important doctrines that were once lost are contained in the Book of Mormon.
