Hi I'm Anna

I study theater. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Between directing, film making, stage managing, and going to college my school year is pretty booked. But during the summer I love hiking, camping, and rock climbing. When I can't get outdoors I spend my free time testing out new recipes, practicing make-up designs, and watching movies with my husband. My husband and I also enjoy dressing up as Ghostbusters for charity events with our friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up my best friends were Buddhist, Jews, Catholics, Protestants, and Lutherans. Even though I grew up in a Mormon household I decided I wanted to go to church with my friends too. I knew the customs. I practiced many ways of devotion. But something felt like it was missing. At this time I was only twelve. Like most twelve year olds I wasn't big into reading the scriptures: Harry Potter was my favorite. But that summer when I went to a Mormon girls' camp I was challenged to read the scriptures everyday. I decided to read the Book of Mormon. The spirit I felt flow out of that book was incredible. I read and I read and I read some more. I read until I got to Moroni's challenge: to pray and find out for myself if these things were true. During free time one day I sneaked away from my group of friends playing at the lake and took a trail into the forest. There I knelt. I prayed that I could know if this church was Christ's true church on the earth today and if the Book of Mormon was truly an inspired book. A feeling of openness and light came into my chest. It was so overwhelming and peaceful that tears came to my eyes. I'd never felt so happy. It was then that I knew that this was truly Christ's church restored to the earth. From then on I decided to devote myself to living to the gospel.

How I live my faith

I just moved and am now in a new ward where I haven't received a calling yet. But I'm looking forward to getting one! In my old ward I was a Primary Chorister. Primary is so much fun! It's a class for children younger than 12. We learn songs about Jesus, play games together, and learn stories from the scriptures.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons absolutely believe that the Bible is Holy Scripture and the word of God! This last year we studied the Old Testament in Sunday School and I'm looking forward to studying the New Testament in 2011! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Mormon's believe that this life is not the end. Through Christ's atonement and resurrection we will all be resurrected. Families that are sealed together in temples even continue after death. Show more Show less
