Hi I'm Linda Elms

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom of three children. I believe in education very much. For myself and for my kids. I have been very involved over the years with helping in schools to homeschooling my kids in math. My daughter was really struggling in reading so I home-schooled her for two years. Now she is doing great and is a great reader. a story about me... I hated reading (I have dyslexia) I really struggled with school when I was young. I can say I only read maybe two books my whole 12 years of education through 12th grade. ... I started reading to my son when he was a baby, starting with the baby books that little ones like. As he got older I kept reading with him. In sixth grade my son had to read a historical fiction book about the American Revolution. I like to know what my kids are reading so I read it too. I have been reading my kids books ever since. I love reading. Reading opens the world up to us so much more. I can say that my kids love to read. Reading is a way to never stop learning.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I believe in Jesus Christ! Its that simple. I want to be a follower of Christ. I am a better person so much more, when I am trying to live as Christ has taught. He loves me and wants me to be happy. I feel happy. But even when things can be difficult, I feel my Savior with me as I seek him. I have had some very trying times in my life. It was my testimony of the Savior and feeling his love for me that got me through it all.

How I live my faith

I try to be my best ME! ... I love serving others. There are a lot of people who just need a friend, who want to feel loved. I know I do. Heavenly Father wants us to feed his sheep so I do my best to make this happen. I get to help with scouts and merit badges. Its great to see youth who are accomplishing great things with scouting and it is great to be a part of that.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Linda Elms
Tithing is used to build temples, church buildings, help those in other countries who need our assistance financially. I know wheel chairs have been bought to help those who wouldn't be able to get around otherwise. Tithing is not used to pay salaries to clergy. Show more Show less
