Hi I'm Evan

I'm a Computer Scientist. I'm a nerd. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading action packed books, reading scriptures, play videogames, program. I like outdoors and offroading. I'm from Dominican Republic. I'm currently serving a mission in Georgia. I study computer science

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but I always had some doubt until I decided to really know what is religion and why I'm in this one. I search and looked around in other religions, then I went to a common source, the bible, I started to see some things, such as church organization (Twelve, seventy, prophet, etc...), authority that is needed to do the will of the Lord, how important prophets are. Then thru many of these things I figured that if there were to be a true church on earth the one with the most probability was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but still I was doubtful, until I decided to ask God myself, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed and pondered about the teachings of the church and I received many answers, I was surprised, I suddenly knew, not believed or thought, after that I knew that no matter what people say at the end is the answer that you get from God, then I became more eager to do what is right and live the best I can. The understanding of God's will and our purpose on earth that I've received thru his restored gospel has given me peace, joy, hope, comfort, endurance that can't be taken away, thru my obedience. I testify that no man can receive greater reward than by living God's commandments and understanding his plan, that is given thru his restored gospel.

How I live my faith

I love to do service in my community. I love be friends with people to help them improve their lives.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Evan
No, if we profess to love Christ and adore him and we don't help others then we will not be followers of Christ, the answer was given by the Lord “Bring no more vain oblations incense is an abomination unto me the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth they are a trouble unto me I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes cease to do evil Learn to do well seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.” Isaiah 113-17  Show more Show less
