Hi I'm Jordan

I'm a engineering student. I play soccer. I speak Spanish. I love adventures. I'm a rockclimber. I'm a snowboarder. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Utah. I am the oldest of 4. Most of my family lives within 35-40 miles of me and therefore, I am very family-oriented. I love to help people. I especially love to work with all type of electronics and all of my friends call me for the tech advice. I love being out and about, whether that be week-long backpacking trips, swimming, soccer, boarding, running, climbing, etc. I love to enjoy nature and the great outdoors. I served a 2 year mission as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mormons from January 2009 to January 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia. From that mission of service I have learned to speak Spanish and I have learned to love the spanish people and their culture. I am a junior, studying Biomedical Engineering at Utah State University and I could say that my choice to come to school here has changed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but that didn't stop me from finding out for myself that it was the truth. It took a lot of reading from the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, deep thought, studying it out in my mind, asking God with all energy of heart whether Joseph Smith was a prophet and whether the Book of Mormon was true and waiting for an answer from my Heavenly Father. I felt through the Holy Spirit of the Lord, that burning sensation in my heart and the pure happiness, that this was the true church upon the face of the earth. At points in my life when I wasn't following the statutes of the gospel like I should have, those were the times when I felt most alone or lost in this world. The Savior, in his infinite love, never forgot about me and continually nudged me in the right direction. When I used my agency to choose the right, that is the moment when I saw and felt the blessings of my Heavenly Father raining down upon me. The most central part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for me is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that without him I am nothing and would never be anything. I know that I haven't been prefect in my life, but I know that if I do my best to follow the example of the Savior that he will make up the rest. He is able to make me whole, but it requires a lot of action on my part! Due to my Savior's sacrifice, I am able to become like he is one step at a time. I love the Savior and his wonderful gospel!

How I live my faith

Either you live your faith or you don't... There is no in between. Of course that type of perfection only exists in a perfect world. Therefore, I do try my best to live what I stand for, a Mormon. I help teach some of the people in my group, but most of the time they just teach me, because they have a lot more experience than I do.
