Hi I'm Shay

I'm an entrepreneur. I'm a Consultant. I'm a Father and a Husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have five lively children. I am an MBA and work as a business consultant. My wife and I love movies, board games, smoothies and date night. I have been skydiving in Florida, snorkling in the gulf and bull fighting in Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

As a youth, I was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints just because I grew up in a mormon household. I was simply living on my parent's light. Finally, when I was about 16, I decided to take that challenge that everyone should take and ask God if what I had learned was true. (James 1:5) I remember reading in the Book of Mormon about Jesus Christ. I remember kneeling and asking God if it was true. I remember feeling something more powerful than I had ever felt. Light, peace, warm fire, strength, sureity, confidence, power. I have since asked God about hundreds of things and I know that He will confirm the truth to our hearts, if we but ask if the things before us are true. I am a Mormon because I FEEL the truth of the teachings about Christ and His gospel. They enlighten me, lift me, calm me, change me, save me and bring me closer to Him.

How I live my faith

We live our faith by attending and serving in the church, teaching our kids to live specific high standards, reading the word of God and teaching it to our children, praying often personally, as a couple, and as a family, avoiding all foods, drinks and substances that would harm our body, serving our fellow man, ensuring that we have a strong family, visiting other families in our congregation, sharing the gospel with those who want to hear it, attending the temple and hundreds of other big and little things. It is a way of life. But the most important focus for us is the Savior. My faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ frees me. When I sin and repent, I have faith that the Savior removes my sin and I am free. When I am offended, I have faith that the Savior removes the offenders sin and heals my wounds and I am free. When I am sick and in pain I have faith that He heals me and I am free. When I am lonely, confused, or in darkness I have faith that He will accompany me, teach me and enlighten me. Every time He does one of those things for me, I feel free. I know that no matter who you are, He can free you too.
