Hi I'm Derek

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with two dogs and no kids. I love to go camping in the North Georgia Mountains. My hobby right now is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and it is soon to also be photography. I love watching and playing football and spending a lot of time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because of my parents. As I became older, I realized how important it is for me to follow the teachings of Christ and knew that my happiness was dependent on it. I know that by living by these teachings that we can be happy independent of life's circumstances. I know it because I have had rough times in my life and have always found hope in my Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus Christ. I know I am not perfect but reading the scriptures and going to church help renew my desire to be like Christ and gives me that boost of confidence I need to know that I can live with my Father in Heaven.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Derek
Families are important because they are where a child begins to learn about Christ. Families have the most influence over a persons life. By being a family, we can support one another in important decisions that help us return to our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Derek
It is expected of the young men to serve missions. They are not forced, nor given ultimatums, to go but are expected to go. It isn't to be looked at as a chore, but as a blessing and honor to serve to serve the Lord. Show more Show less
