Hi I'm Jaclyn

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently working as an assistant in the Special Education department at an elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee! I absolutely love working with children! There is a special light they share, especially special needs children. I can tell they have a light of Christ within them. I have always loved music. I play the piano and love to sing (mostly in choirs or small groups). I come from a large family, I am one of eight children. I love having a big family. It's rare when we can all get together but it's fun to stay close with each of them. I have so many nieces and nephews that it's hard to keep track of them all. Currently I am at 22, I had to count them all just now. :) I love playing sports and doing anything competitive. If I'm not keeping score, I'm not having fun. :) I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

I started out being a Mormon because my parents are Mormon. I was born and raised in this church and slowly line upon line gained my own testimony of this Gospel! And now, I can't imagine my life without it! It is such an amazing part of my life! It's so incredible to know that my Heavenly Father loves MEEEE! How is that possible? He has so many children to keep track of and yet I KNOW without a doubt that He loves me and He KNOWS me way better than I will ever know myself. He is with me every step of the day and He loves to hear from me. He has a plan for me! I know that my Savior is the head of this church! He suffered and died for me! Someday I'll be able to wrap my arms around Him and thank Him for that! I know that His entire life was an example of how I am supposed to live. I need to constantly be serving and helping others along my way. I know that Jesus Christ is my older brother and that he suffered all of my sins, weaknesses, sorrows, heartaches...everything. Everything I feel he's been there! I know I can always turn to him and he'll be there for me. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ as two separate beings. They appeared to him and led Joseph to know what he had to do. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and that I need to read and apply it's teachings into my life everyday! There is no greater book that testifies of Jesus. How people are confused about if this religion is Christian I will never understand. We are clearly Christian! Jesus Christ is the head of our church and we can only come closer to him as we study from the Book of Mormon. I know that we have a living Prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson! I know that we have the priesthood on the earth again and men, when worthy, have the authority to act and bless in God's name. There's so much more to say but I'm out of space! :)

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the Relief Society President in the YSA Branch. YSA stands for young single adult, it is a group of singles from age 18-30. It has been a great experience for me as I have worked with other sisters in serving and building the faith of the members of the ward. Also, as a ward we spend a lot of time reaching out to the less active or inactive members of our faith. We reach out to them by calling them and inviting them to activities or dropping by their homes. I also am very involved in the music in the ward. I love singing in the choir. Choirs have always brought a special Spirit to me and I always feel His presence when I'm singing praises unto him. Another choir I am involved in is the Regional choir which is a choir ranging in age from 10 - 80. Anyone who wants to come is invited. We are rehearsing for our Messiah production right now and it is beautiful to sing these songs! This Gospel definitely keeps me busy! Especially in a "YSA" atmosphere since there is always something going on! But it is a beautiful thing to be busy in the Gospel! Always constantly thinking of and serving others! I love this Gospel with all of my heart and I could never deny the Spirit of which I have felt and the joy that it brings to my soul!!!
