Hi I'm Yac

I grew up in Rose Park, a west side suburb of Salt Lake City. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Utah State University studying Global Communications and Human Resource Management. I served a mission in Dallas Texas from 2007 to 2009. I love to rock climb and swim. I enjoy camping and I love to meet new people. I like the TV show Spongebob, listening to great music such as The shins, Blind Pilot, I love Lord of the Rings and fantasy novels, and I am a great handy man!

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be an active "Mormon" because the Church and the Gospel guide me to find happiness. I can live my life and although I mess up a ton, I know that I can live without constant guilt if I consistently repent and seek to become better through the Savior Jesus Christ. I know there is a great power in living the teachings of Christ and following the council of his prophets. This power sustains me in so many aspects of my life, and improves my domestic relationships with family and friends like nothing else ever could.

How I live my faith

I have been assigned church responsibilities that i strive to fulfill daily; I visit and speak with members of my church family daily, and I have grown to love them. I have the opportunity to work with the ward leaders, and I love serving with them. They teach me so much through their dedicated service. I strive to help others feel a greater sense of self confidence and sense of belonging by being friendly and getting to know everyone I can.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Yac
Tithing is a commandment that has been given to us as a blessing so that we can demonstrate our faith. Among all the commandments we are given, It's the easiest one to know is fulfilled. After paying my tithing, I immediately receive an assurance that things will all work out. Faith to pay tithing builds off of faith in Christ, and in his promised blessings. I love to pay 10 percent of what I earn. I know that I have received much in blessings than just my annual income, and all he requires out of all the categories of blessings that we recieve, is that we show him our gratitude and faith through the paying of 10 percent of what we are given freely.
