Hi I'm Philo

I am a college student and an English Major. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am an English Major. I love reading and writing. I believe that the words of society describe its soul. It is by reading the words of our great writers that we come to know who we are as a society and where we stand. I like Hemingway, Robert Frost, Edgar Allan Poe, Terry Brooks, and J. R. R. Tolkien. I served as a Mormon Missionary in Taiwan for two years. During that time I was blessed to learn mandarin Chinese and gain a great love for the people of Taiwan. They are great people. I enjoy reading, writing, playing video games, watching movies and TV, and exercising.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this church. I was born in this church, that is my parents are Mormons, and so I can't remember a time when I didn't attend the Mormon church. I love this church. I know from the bottom of my heart that it is true, and that is why I am still in this church, and not because I was born in it. I served as a Mormon missionary for two years in Taichung, Taiwan, and I loved it. I have had the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ revealed to me many times, and I know of myself that this is his true church on the earth today. My membership in this church has blessed my life in countless ways, the first of which is my relationship with my family. Our faith in this church has brought us so close. It is what ties us to together and unifies us. Through the blessings that have come to us in this church my family will be together forever, and I think that is best blessing my Savior has given me.

How I live my faith

I spend time sharing the gospel with others of my faith, uplifting and encouraging them. I share the message of Jesus Christ with them, and the words of a modern day prophet named, Thomas S Monson. He has the authority to speak on behalf of Christ. I also try to uplift and help my family, and I organize activities for other singles to participate in. This is a way to increase unity in our church, to encourage each other, and just have fun.
