Hi I'm David O.

I'm from Provo, Utah. I'm a student. Brains are what get me going. I love all things BYU. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have always been a nerd. I was the go-to guy in high school when you needed help on your homework, and I've continued that role in college. I also was a member of my high school band. I played the tuba and the bassoon, as well as being a fairly decent pianist.

Why I am a Mormon

Through years of experiences, I have learned that Jesus Christ is indeed my Savior. I have learned for myself that the Book of Mormon is indeed the word of God--the pages of that book teach me how I can rely on Jesus Christ with clarity and power. My conviction to that is strengthened with each day that I read. My witness is that Joseph Smith did in fact see God the Father and Jesus Christ; they did in reality speak to him. Joseph Smith was a prophet in the modern era, and the authority of prophets has continued down to the present day. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that this church has the authority, doctrine, and ordinances necessary for me to access the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that the president of the church is a prophet, and if I follow what he says as a prophet then I will receive the grace of God in order to bring me back to heaven.

How I live my faith

Living my faith means that everything I do is done in the context that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I understand that to mean that through his atoning sacrifice, I can be perfect--but that everyday I will make mistakes. It means that I try each day to do better than the day before--and I often fail at doing that, but I try. I'm never satisfied with where I'm at. There is always room for growth and improvement, and it is through Christ that I can make that growth. I have made promises with God, and those promises are the context behind everything I do. Because of those promises, I live each day knowing that God is guiding me and helping me to become as He is.
