Takyiwah: Mormon.

Hi I'm Takyiwah

About Me

I'm a very fun loving person. I love to hang out with family and friends. I am a mother of one and loving every single moment of it. Majored in Linguistics and minored in English in college. But my current job is fulfilling my God given responsibility and duty. And that is being a wife and mother and nothing can replace that. My family is my pride and joy and I'll do anything for them. I love the outdoors especially in the summer. I love water sports. But cooking is my passion. My new found love is baking( not very good at it but I'm getting there).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only place I could find joy and peace. And it has brought my family together for all eternity

Personal Stories

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

After my mother died in 2004, I had so many questions. I wondered it death was the end of everything. I was very sad and miserable. I wish I had had enough time to spend with her. I was sad because she wouldn't be able to see me get married or meet my husband and my children. But when the plan of happiness was shared with me, it gave me hope. I realized that, I will be able to see my mother again. And she still will be a part of my family even after this life. She will be my mother and my kids will be her grandchildren and she will know her. It was the best news that anyone could have given me. It changed my life for the better. I wanted to know more about Heavenly fathers plan for my life. I got married in the temple of the Lord for time and all eternity so that, my family bonds will extend even after death. Life is worth living if I know that the ones that are most important to me will be with me in the life after this. And this is the joy that Heavenly father wants for all His children. That we can all return to live with Him with all our family.

Could you talk about your baptism?

I was baptized when I was almost 22 years old. After about 8 years of searching for the truth, the missionaries found me. I was skeptical at first. But as I opened my heart to the influence of the Holy spirit, I received a profound feeling after a knelt down to pray. It was a feeling so strong that I couldn't deny it. I had received a confirmation of the truthfulness of the teachings of the missionaries, about Joseph Smith and the book of Mormon. I decided to be baptized so that I could receive all the blessings that Heavenly father had in store for me. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am happier because of the gospel in my life. I married someone that shares the same values and principles with me and we have a happy family because of the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was the only one in my family to be baptized. But now, my parents are taking the missionary discussions. Because the saw the great change that had happened in my life. It was a little hard for me at first since I was the only one in my friends that was a member of the Church. But as I explained my principles to them, the accepted it and helped me live the high standards I had set for myself. It is not always easy. But if we trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and take that bold step, He will hold us by the hand and guide us through each day. It will not be easy but He will always be there to carry our burdens and make our load light.

How I live my faith

I make it a point to attend church every Sunday to fellowship with my ward members and also to learn more of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I use to teach the 3-4 years old before I had my baby. I try to visit the sisters that I have been assigned to monthly. This helps me to study the scriptures and the lessons so that I can give the the message of the month. The more I visit teach my sisters, the more I learn of the gospel. I love to help my husband with his young men activities as I can and help with other ward activities. I strive everyday to be a better neighbor and a better friend and a good wife and mother. Because I know that, that is the only way I may make a difference in the world. I enjoy time with my family and cherish the little things in life. My family and my knowledge is the only thing I will take with me when I die and so I cherish them very dearly. And the knowledge that, I can be with my family for all eternity when I am faithful and honor the covenants that I have made with my Heavenly father, gives me greater joy for things to come
