Hi I'm Amanda

I am a mom, an urban farmer, a massage therapist, and a Mormon

About Me

I love waking up and seeing glistening snowflakes blanketing everything. I also love being married and being a mom. I have enjoyed been a massage therapist for many years now. I think massage is a wonderful way to help people feel better and show that I care. It is sometimes easier for me to show someone I care with my hands then tell them with words.

Why I am a Mormon

In my life I have tried to be very logical and mathematical. I like to see the results of what I do with my time. I am not a Mormon because it feels good, I am a Mormon because following the teaching of the Mormon church results in a better life. I know from experience that these teachings continually bring me closer to God. I have recognized that decisions in life either bring me closer to God and peace or further away. Because of the teaching of the church I live in peace and joy.

How I live my faith

I know that deep down in my soul that I have been forgiven of the things I have done wrong. I would not trade this knowledge for anything in the world. The joy I have from this makes all of my troubles seem so small. This is only possible because my Savior, Jesus Christ paid for my sins. I am free. I strive to always be in the right place at the right time. This means following the example of Jesus Christ. He taught with love and patience. He did not judge and loves everyone regardless of any labels people apply. Each teaching of the church that I was not totally comfortable with I questioned it, studied it, and prayed about it. My prayers were always answered and I am no longer surprised when the answer I get from God matches the teachings from the church.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Have you ever seen a temple and wanted to go inside? I think most everyone desires to go into one of these beautiful buildings. The church helps me to not be destructive in my own life and the lives of others. n the temples we promise to be our very best selves. If someone feels that they could fall back into bad habits, like using illegal drugs then they are not ready. The temple is really open to anyone who is determined to keep their promises to be better. We make these promises when we are baptized. Promises like: remember Jesus Christ and help each other. After I started attending church regularly it did not take very long until I was able to go to the temple. Kind church leaders helped me know when I was ready to go to the temple. We call the temple The Lord's house. We want everyone to come inside the temples. They are wonderful places of peace and promises. Show more Show less
