Hi I'm Natalie Giddens

I'm married with three young kids. I have a degree in Print Journalism. I worked at CNN. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an outgoing, college-educated thirty something. I thrive on learning and I love to read. I'm a wife and mother - two of my greatest joys. In what feels like a lifetime ago, I was a fairly decent writer. I get to be a stay-at-home mom and I love it! My dream is to go back to school for a master's degree. I'm upbeat and positive, I think my husband's the funniest man alive and I like to try new food. I dream of traveling the world and experiencing different cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because this church has taught me two truths - that I'm a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me and that I have a purpose on this Earth. I take great comfort in knowing that the scriptures are true, that I can talk to my Heavenly Father through prayer and that God answers prayers. I've learned that the path to true happiness - not simply fun and recreation - is one of learning about and applying the Savior's Atonement to my life. To know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He lived on this Earth, that he suffered for me and died for my sins, and then was resurrected and lives still, is the greatest knowledge I can ever obtain. This Church, through its teachings, has helped me to cultivate a personal relationship with my Savior. I'm a member of this Church because it is true.

How I live my faith

I work with the children ages 18 months to 12 years old in my congregation. I make sure there are teachers for each class, that lessons are prepared, contribute to singing time, and overall ensure the children have an enjoyable Sabbath day experience. It's been fun to be with the children each week and feel of their special spirits.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Natalie Giddens
The Law of Chastity is that as members of the Church we will not have sexual relations (in all of it's forms) with anyone to whom we are not legally and lawfully married. This law applies to those who are single as well as those who are married. We believe in abstinence before marriage and completely fidelity after. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Natalie Giddens
LDS temples are places built especially for the performing of sacred ordinances - similar to King Solomon's time. Temples are also where Mormons can be married for eternity. Temples are open to everyone who qualifies through a worthiness interview with a priesthood leader. We believe a temple is literally God's house and that we can become closer to our Heavenly Father by faithfully attending the temple regularly. Show more Show less
