Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a Mormon (member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).

About Me

I grew up in a great LDS family mostly in southern Nevada. After Serving a mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I came home and started attending school in southern Utah where I met my wife. We have almost been married for 3 years now and we have a year old baby boy. We experience happiness each day by living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is true and the Jesus Christ lives. This personal witness has come through numerous experiences as I have read the Bible and the Book of Mormon, sincerely desired to know if they is true, and have asked God to make it known to me and through the Holy Ghost have come to know the truth. I feel the Holy Ghost through soft but powerful feelings and thoughts; these impressions confirm the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to me on a daily basis. This has changed my life. I wish I had the adequate words to describe what the gospel of Jesus Christ has meant and does mean to me. For me, it is everything.

How I live my faith

I have noticed that my knowledge and testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ affects every decision that I make every day. Because I know that He is my redeemer I have confidence that I can be successful in all aspects of life. Although I make mistakes and am imperfect, I know that I can be forgiven as I repent of my sins and change for the better. He gives me courage to move forward in life and make important decisions even when I do not know what the outcome will be. My faith in Jesus Christ also drives me to be a better husband, father, and priesthood holder. I love serving in His church and inviting all to come unto Him, including myself. I strive each day to become more like Him. He has completely changed my life forever.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Just as ancient prophets such as Moses, Isaiah, and others recorded revelation from God are found in the Bible, many ancient prophets living on the American continent also received revelation from God. Their teachings and prophecies of Jesus Christ and His gospel are found in the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ; is not and addition to the Bible, but rather it is simply another testament of Jesus Christ, as its cover indicates. Reading and praying about the Book of Mormon will help others come closer to God and helps us become more like the Savior. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Mormons are regular people. I am just an ordinary person who is trying to do my best in life like everyone else. I go to school, love to spend time with my wife and baby boy, play sports, mountain bike, and a lot of other things that are pretty common for people to do. Mormons or Latter-day Saints are however unique in some aspects. We attend church faithfully each week for 3 hours, we abstain from premarital sex and are completely faithful after marriage. We don't drink alcohol, coffee, or tea and we don't take drugs or smoke. Our beliefs also set us apart though in that we believe that God has called a prophet that lives on the earth today, named Thomas S. Monson. We believe that through obedience to commandments and promises and covenants we make in the temple we can find true happiness and live forever with our families. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ salvation is possible. Show more Show less
