Hi I'm Janice Cairns

I'm a mother, a grandmother, an inventor, an entrepreneur. I'm happily married, joyful and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and a grandmother--who, between me and my husband, have 9 children and 21 grandkids! I own a small small business sewing custom draperies. I have a degree in English, a degree in Business, and a Master's degree in Small Business Management. I like to read, exercise, and garden. I have lived in the South since 1975, but I'm still a Yankee at heart!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 23. My sister loved Donny Osmond and suggested to my brother to investigate the Mormon church. He joined, and then told me and my sister about it. I KNEW it was the right thing, the correct path for me. I've been through many storms, trials and tribulations, but through it all, I know Heavenly Father loves me, that Jesus died for me, and that this church is true. I know that the Gospel was restored in these latter days to prepare the earth for the second coming of Christ, and that He will return with the governance of His kingdom already set up through the Priesthood and the organization of His church.

How I live my faith

I serve the Lord wherever He wants me to serve. Right now I head the children's organization in our congregation. That means I coordinate the programs overseeing the teaching of the children. I also have an extra-special duty to make sure three of my fellow female members are taken care of in case they may have any troubles. Beside that, I try every day to make my life more in tune with they type of life Jesus would have lived. I try not to judge, I forgive others as Jesus would want me to, and I try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. I try to live at all times to hear the Holy Spirit and what he would have me do.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Janice Cairns
Jesus was the only perfect person to live on the earth. Jesus takes upon Himself all the sins of those people who repent of them, and because He is pure and good, His unselfish sacrifice paid the price of justice and gave us the mercy we need to be able to live with Him and Heavenly Father again. This allows us to progress and be more like Him every day, otherwise, it would all be fruitless. Show more Show less
