Hi I'm Nick

I'm a pharmacist. I served a mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small Utah town, mostly populated by Mormons. I loved growing up in such a place. I always feel at home in a rural area. After serving a 2-year mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I returned home to study chemistry, and have recently earned a Pharm.D. I love Brazil, and I hope to return soon. I learned how to cook a few Brazilian-style dishes... but they don't compare to those cooked by the wonderful Irma's there. I love living in Utah because of the variety of beautiful landscapes. I've hiked and camped in many places throughout Utah and the Western United States. There are many, many, many beautiful places around the world that I also want to see, though. I want people everywhere to enjoy the amazing places right around their own homes, and I know that we all neglect to do so.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to follow the path presented to me as a child. I am so grateful to have had parents and a family that love the gospel of Jesus Christ and have supported me in my efforts to find for myself. It has been a gradual process to have a firm belief in and desire to follow the teachings of our Savior. I now continue to hold fast to His teachings because of all the times that I've thought that it wasn't very important. I've found a peaceful confidence through living the teachings of Jesus Christ and His prophets. I know that I am happier when I strive to follow His commandments and seek to become closer to Him in every way. Life isn't always easiest when we follow Jesus Christ, but I know that it is the best way to go. Through prayer, study, and seeking to live as Jesus did, I have gradually come to know with a surety that He loves me, and He wants me to become as He is. This is such a wonderful thing.

How I live my faith

I love helping other people, and the Church has always provided ways for me to do so. The home teaching program is a blessing to everyone. This program has our church leaders assign all of the men in the congregation a teaching companion, and the two of them are assigned various families or individuals in the congregation to visit on a regular basis. These visits include a spiritual message, as well as making sure the people are taken care of in essentially every way. I've always loved visiting other families and determining how we can help them. It gives me such a satisfying sense of accomplishment to help anyone, and being a home teacher always provides opportunities to do so. I try my best to pass along the sense of love that I feel from our church leaders, and our Savior Jesus Christ. I also enjoy teaching in a classroom setting, and have had a few opportunities to do so in Sunday School. I always try to live in a way that doesn't cause others to doubt that I follow Jesus.
