Hi I'm Callis

My favorite number is 76. That is what I always scored when I took a test in school.

About Me

I'm an Interaction Designer (Just learning) It's a new field in computer software. I used to love playing basketball but my body just won't take it anymore. Road biking is my new exercise program. I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandmother was a Mormon her whole life. After she died at 92 years old, I looked back at her whole life, what she had written, stories others had shared... that's when I began to understand what the gospel can do for a person who is determined to live it.

How I live my faith

The best thing I love about my faith is the constant encouragement I receive each Sunday. Prayer is a frequent topic. It is funny how easy it is just to go on your way and get busy, preoccupied and forget.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Callis
I love the principle of baptism. My children were each baptized when they turned eight years old (that is the norm). Why so young? Baptism is a beginning - not an end. The promises they make, just as they are beginning to learn right and wrong, help guide them later on. What better way to begin to venture out into life! Baptism basically means "I am willing to follow the Savior". It is very simple and is done by immersion. Most chapels have a baptismal font in them. There are many scriptures in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon that talk about the promises Jesus Christ makes to those who are willing to follow him. Baptism is just the first step on that path.
