Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a sports fanatic. I love sunny beaches, life cereal, singing, and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college-age kid from Utah. I grew up in the suburbs and played basketball from a young age. I've watched college sports since before I could talk! I have recently returned from serving as a missionary in Southern California, and learned Spanish in the process. I am now returning to college to major in Business/Finance. I teach Spanish to missionaries who are preparing to share the gospel in different areas of the world. I hope to soon marry a beautiful young lady and start a family!

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know it's true. I've felt the Spirit tell me that I am where I need to be, that I am doing what God would have me do. The "is this right?" that once existed in me is no longer there.

How I live my faith

An Apostle of God a special witness of Jesus Christ here on earth recently said that "you become who you want to be by consistently being who you want to become." I in no way claim to be perfect, but the way I live my faith is by consistently striving to follow Jesus Christ so that one day I will become the person that I want to be and the person that He expects me to be. This is attained through diligent study of the scriptures, daily prayer, church attendance, serving others, etc. Although at times it is overwhelming, through our hope in Jesus Christ we are able to change, acheive, and become better.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Spencer
From Holy Scripture we learn that "no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God". Because the temple is "the house of the Lord", it is necessary that anyone who enters is prepared and worthy to do so. That requires lots of preparation, including faith, repentance, baptism by the proper authority, Sabbath day worship, etc. To all those who are not currently ready to enter the temple whether you are a member of the church or not, to you we give this invitation--prepare yourselves to come to the house of the Lord! The invitation is extended to EVERYONE to come participate in the wonderful ordinances of the temple. There you will learn of the sacred, not secret, practices that take place that allow us to draw closer to our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
