Hi I'm Jeremy

I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am Jeremy. I am a proud mormon. I am a born scouter, I love the boy scouts of america. I love camping, hiking, fishing, and politics.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is where I have found my testimony of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon gives so much convincing evidence that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God. It is a nation (the americas) that live on the other side of world than Jesus Christ, baring testimony that he is the Savior of the World. Because Jesus is the savior of the world it makes sense to me that the whole world would need to at least have the oppurtunity to know that. And the Book of Mormon teaches that God will reveal Jesus Christ Gospel to everyone as long as they have faith. I must put in a good word for the Bible. The Bible is the word of God, of this I know. I mean no disrespect or discredit to the Bible, with my love for the Book of Mormon. The Bible provides us with an account of Jesus Christ mortal ministry and of what he did for the people in Jerusalem. It gives essential doctorines that the Book of Mormon gives little information on. The truth is both books are nessecary. The two books work together kind of like your eyes, you can see with one, but when you have two, things become much clearer. There is so much insight that the Book of Mormon gives about the mission and life of Jesus Christ. If you want to know Christ better, you need to read this Book.

How I live my faith

I know that this is Jesus Christ church. I know it so much so, that I am served as full time (24 hours a day 365 days a year) missionary for the last 2 years. I feel that it is important for all men and women everywhere know this message. I have even learned the Haitian Creole language so that I can teach this to the Haitian people.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jeremy
When we talk about the atonement of jesus christ we are talking about the events in Jesus Christs life. The first is Jesus Christ suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, His death on the cross and his resurrection three days later. This right here is the very core of everything we know and teach. This is the center point of every doctorine ever preached from one of our pulpits. It is through Jesus Christs sacrafice for all of humanity that we can become clean from all sin. He payed the price for sin, the sins of the whole world. Three days after his horrific death, he rose triumphatly from the grave, He took his body up again and lived. He will show all of us how we can do that too. Because of Jesus Christ We all willl live again, in a perfect immortal body! Jesus christ however did not elimanate the need for personal responsibility. We are here on earth to learn and grow and become better. If Jesus Christ just automatically forgave us he would rob us of our oppurtunity to grow. So he helps us to repent, he helps to learn from our mistakes and become better, He helps us fix our mistakes and then he gives us forgiveness. Thus still helping us grow but not defeating the purpose of our existance. I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jeus Christ and for his forgiveness. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Jeremy
The Law of Chasity is one of the greatest/smartest commandments that God has given to mankind. The ability to create children is a tremendous and sacred gift from God. He commands us to keep it with in the bonds of marriage. He also commands to us to keep our thoughts and feelings pure by avoiding pornography. This commandment is smart. If everyone were to respect this commandment I believe that a great deal of poverty would go away. The young people of the world could get an education and be fully muture and ready for a child before having one. Lots of young people believe that you can't have "fun" unless you break the Law of Chasity, that is not true. There is so much more to life then the media portrays it. You can have fun, go on hikes, fishing, playing sports, watching good clean movies. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Jeremy
We believe the bible to be the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We do not however believe that all of Gods word is in the bible. We believe that God has spoke to all people in all places. Anywhere we can find Gods word we use it. I speak English and Haitian Creole and if there is one thing that I have learned while speaking both languages is that translation is just plain difficult and often times you can't say what they said in English in Creole, I can get close but it just doesn't work well. This fact is included with the bible that is why there are so many different versions of the bible. It also leaves room for people to take pieces of it being left out or just translated badly. Well this brings lots of confusion and many different churches. This is not a part of Gods plan he wants us to have his truth clear and with out confusion. This is one of the many reason why God Has brought to pass the restoration of his complete truth. He has given us another testament of Jesus Christ to Help establish what is true in the bible and what is an error in translation. The Restoration of Gods truths makes what the Bible says so much more real and so much more clear, it does not replace the bible. We use the Bible love the Bible, we learn things about the bible that we can't anywhere else. But to make Gods truth clearer his Restored the Gospel, revealed new scripture and called real prophets to lead us in our journey through life. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jeremy
Of course the bible is Holy Scripture it is the word of God. It is a book that is considered canonized scripture. Now we do not however believe that all of Gods word is contained in the Bible. We do not believe that God gave us "the text book" and then finished talking. We believe that he speaks today. We believe he has revealed new scripture. This does not take away from the validity of or the sacredness of the Bible it just gives us more of what the Bible already has. We believe in all of Gods word and that most certainly includes the Bible. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Jeremy
Well this is kind of a trick question, in reality it was Jesus Christ did two thousand years ago. His church was called the Church of Jesus Christ. Though due to the wickedness of the people, this church became corrupted and changed overtime. Well two hundred years ago Jesus Christ decided to bring his church back to the earth, in its original form. So Jesus Christ called a prophet, through that prophet He reveled all of the truths necessary for our salvation. Jesus Christ used this prophet to start his church again. And the name of that church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is the same church that Jesus Christ started in his mortal ministries but it is for the saints that live in these the latter days. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jeremy
Well seems how i have done this for the last two years I can give you a pretty good idea of what they will tell you about. It is really quite simple, they will teach you about Jesus Christ and how to recieve forgiveness for your sins. Part of that process is to be baptized by proper authority from God, so they will probably invite you to do that. They are going to explain Gods plan for his children, which includes why we are here on the earth and where we are going after we die. And they will teach you how to recieve answers to your prayers, and invite you to pray and ask God if these things are true. It will be a good spirited atmosphere. Highly reccomended.
