Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a Missionary.

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints serving in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission. I am from Utah and before coming on my mission was going to the University of Utah. When my mission is over I will be going back to study Architecture. I enjoy singing, playing the piano, computer games, caligraphy, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents are both mormon, my grandparents are mormon, and my great grandparents were mormon. I grew up knowing the doctrines and principles taught in the church. I believed the church is true. It wasn't until during the past several years that I came to really know that this is the restored church of Jesus Christ. This knowledge didn't come all at once. I came to know the truth of individual principles one by one as I lived them. I came to know that the Book of Mormon was true scripture by studying it and that tithing is a true law from God by living it and then recieving the blessings that God promised for those who keep it. My testimony of each principle came by living as it tells us to live and then seeing what was promised by God to those that keep it. I became a mormon because I was born into it. I am still a mormon because I have seen miracles from God that prove to me that what I have been taught is true. I will continue to be a mormon because I will continue to live the way the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to live and my testimony, my faith, will continue to grow.

How I live my faith

Before coming on my mission I was a sunday school teacher. I taught twelve year olds. They were always very energetic and talkative. It was a challenge to keep them focused on the lesson but it was very rewarding to take part in teaching them how to follow Christ. Now I spend all my time teaching. I am a full time missionary . I search for and teach those who are ready to come closer to Christ and help them along the way.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

The scriptures teach us that it is by grace that we are saved. We know this to be true but we also understand that God expects something out of us. We do all we can to follow God and His commandments and maybe you can get 2% of the way to being saved and perhaps someone else can get 3 or 4%. If we do all we can then Christ brings us the rest of the way to 100% through grace which is made possible because He paid the price for our sins. So while it is by grace that we are saved, God does expect us to do all we can do before He will step in and save us. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

To have faith is to believe in something that is hoped for but not seen which is true. You can have faith in anyone or anything provided it fits that criteria. But the only faith that will produce salvation is faith in Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
