Hi I'm Jason

I'm a college student, a sports enthusiast and an avid reader. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Santa Clarita Clalifornia, and right now, I'm a missionary serving in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission. I love preaching the gospel, running, playing soccer, basketball and racquetball, and being with my family and friends. I plan on returning to college soon after my mission, and pursuing a career as a civil engineer. I love math mixed with a little physics, and reading is one of my favorite past times.

Why I am a Mormon

The restored gopsel of Jesus Christ has helped me in more ways than I can express. As a missionary, I have had the opportunity to share that message as well, and the peace and understanding it brings is unmatched. I have had the opportunity to see many miracles in the lives of others as well as my own, and I have come to know my God and Savior in a sense that can never be taken away. I love this gospel so much, and I wouldn't give it up for anything!

How I live my faith

Right now, I serve as a missionary, bringing this fantastic message to the people in South Florida who speak Haitian Creole! I am called to invite others to learn of this message and come unto Christ. It's a wonderful work, and I am able to be with people in and out of the church all day long.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Jason
Leaders in the church are not paid for a few reasons. One of the main reasons is because we follow the Savior's example who did not accept payment for his work. Instead, church leaders balance a job and a church calling, requiring much aid from the Lord. There are also very straight forward teachings from the Book of Mormon about teachers supporting themselves, and not by the work of those they teach. We strive to be a self-sustaining people, and that includes our church leaders. Show more Show less
