Hi I'm Eric

I'm an entrepreneur, a city boy from New York City, a father of 4 boys and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Married for 20 years with 4 awesome boys. Originally from New York City. I love to start businesses and watch them grow. I love to spend time with my family, camp, bike. I am just a normal hard working man that never gives up.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS church most of my life. When I was young, I had a pretty tough life struggling to understand right and wrong. I was originally baptized as a Dutch Reformist and attended Catholic mass on Easter. My parents got divorced when I was about 7yrs of age. I was a perfect fence sitter when I was young. I justified many wrong choices. At about 17yrs of age, I heard a voice tell me that I needed to serve an LDS mission and it was not til then that I had a "real" desire to want to serve God, serve others and share why I am a member of the LDS church. 25yrs later, I am glad that I made that decision. The joy and blessing that have come from knowing that I have a loving Heavenly Father who cares me is a beautiful thing. Knowing that Jesus Christ died on the cross and suffered for my sins brings me great joy. I strive today to live by Jesus Christ's example and find great joy and happiness doing so. There are no words to explain why I am a Mormon, just that everyone can know for themselves by asking a loving Heavenly Father, with real intent, if the Mormon church is true, if Joesph Smith was a prophet and if the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have been taught by my parents that you need to be a good example and serve others. I read about the tremendous efforts of our Savior Jesus Christ and that is what He did; served and was a wonderful example. Some of my greatest experiences have been when I am able to serve others. I have seen people overcome many hardships just by serving them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Serving a mission is not a requirement in the LDS church. As Latter Day Saints we do realize that our example, Jesus Christ, served others and was the great example. Through His service we see the blessings that come to others and we have joy when we serve. Serving a mission is about serving others. We bring light and knowledge to others and teach that Christ died for us because he loved us and that he still lives today. I will never forget the things I learned and specifically how much our Heavenly Father loves his children. I know that my prompting came from God when I was invited to go on a mission. Since I have served a mission I have a very clear understanding why we serve missions in the LDS church. It is about saving lives, giving and serving others. If there is one thing that my mission taught me is that relying on the world gets you no where, relying on your Heavenly Father brings great joy and blessings. Show more Show less
