Hi I'm Jared

I'm a Musician, Chef, Friend, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am 23 years old, and a college student. I love music, food, nature, Spanish, and the church. I like to hang out with my friends, jam, cook, learn new things, and have adventures.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church, so for a long time it was just what everyone around me was doing. Everything just made sense to me and I never had any problems with it. However, all of that changed when I got older. I moved out of the house, stopped going to church, associated with different people, and lost interest. I eventually realized that something was missing, and that I wasn't happy. I decided to come back to church, filling my life with meaning and happiness again. I decided to serve as a missionary for the church, and was sent to the Dominican Republic, where I learned so much more about the truthfulness of the doctrine and principles revealed to us by the Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon, because this is where the truth is, and this is where my Heavenly Father wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by incorporating principles of love and forgiveness into my daily interactions with people. I don't just go to church to learn about Christ, but to become more like Him.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Jared
In addition to the official church response, I would add a personal touch. The scriptures explain in Ephesians 4 that the Savior established apostles and prophets to perfect us, unify us, and protect us from false doctrine. That is exactly what modern apostles and prophets do. We are still imperfect, still divided even within Christianity alone, and there still exist many astute and greedy men who wish lead us down other paths. The world is also very different today than it was back then, and I find it comforting that a loving Heavenly Father calls modern men to guide us through modern issues. Show more Show less
