Hi I'm Misty

I am a mother of teenagers and toddlers. I am a blog writer and a soccer coach in training and a beginner runner. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mama. I have been for a while now. I love my family. I don't love their laundry, but that is best saved for tomorrows blog post. Writing blog posts is way better than trying to manage all those scrap booking tools and papers I had for about 2 seconds about 15 years ago. I have been in 2 5Ks, 1 Ragnar, and 1 Half. All were painfully wonderful. I guess that pretty much sums life up. Everything in life can be compared to running. At least, that is my opinion. Well. Almost. That and pregnancy. So there I am for now. 6 kids. Husband in law school. Lots of laundry. Me. In a very small nut shell.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon for half my life now. I was 18 when I was baptized. I have spent most of my life making decisions based on feeling. 'It just felt right' has crossed my lips more often than 'pass the chocolate'. Which is saying something. I think I have developed something deeper than that over these 18 years though. I have learned to take those feelings and make sure they are from the Holy Spirit. I have learned to know the difference between an emotion and that peaceful, calm, divine direction that can only come from God. Yes. I am so grateful to have joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I know this is God's church on the earth. I know because the Holy Ghost has borne that testimony to me. I know because I have experienced mighty miracles in my life in these years of having babies, serving in His church, attending His temples, studying His word, and growing in my understanding of Him. Hurray for The Gospel!

How I live my faith

I am in charge of the 3 nurseries (a program for children who are 18 months old to 3 years old to attend for 2 hours each Sunday while other classes are being conducted in the church meetinghouse) and I am loving it! Those babies are just the cutest. We have 45 of them! I make sure their toys are clean and organized, that their snacks are ready each week and activities are prepared for them to do. I could tell you about each one of those cute little babes! I will just tell you that of all the callings I have had, nursery is the hardest and the BEST calling ever! I also visit 2 ladies I go to church with. I have a companion and we visit almost once a month. All of those ladies have blessed my life.
