Hi I'm Melissa

A college graduate, I'm a full time mom, and teach math online part time. I'm married. I'm happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm a high school math teacher who loves to sing, dance, and perform. I have a wonderful husband who works as a government reporter. I enjoy spending time with my husband, watching football, playing games, and reading good books. I have a cheerful disposition and can be happy in most any situation. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the LDS church, but was always given the option to choose. My parents taught me correct principles, but then allowed me to govern and choose for myself. I choose to continue as a member of this church because I believe in Christ, and believe this is his church. The gospel provides me with support and strength. I have had moments of doubt, moments of discouragement -- but in the end, I feel my testimony burning within me. The Savior is central to my life. I'm grateful for the Atonement and the strength it lends to my life. Living in accordance with the commandments brings out the best in me, and makes me happy. I'm grateful for this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I have the privilege of teaching Relief Society in my ward. I get to teach the woman around me about Heavenly Father and His Son. Through this calling, I have had the opportunity to see how the Lord can work through an individual to bring about great things. I love the opportunity to study out a topic and prepare a lesson. Aside from my church calling, I do my best to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and to live my life as He would want me. In trying to help those around me, I find peace and joy come into my life.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Melissa
I feel so blessed and privileged in the marriage I have. Following the Savior helps both my husband and I constantly strive to being better. That has an immediate effect on our marriage. I believe that the Savior lived a life of selfless service -- what could be more appropriate for an example in how to create a happy marriage? My husband and I are constantly striving to lift one another, strengthen one another, and share this wonderful journey we're on together. As we learn together to be parents, we look to the Savior to help us with our deficiencies. My husband uses the priesthood to bless our home. Scripture study brings greater understanding of how we can achieve a peaceful environment. Praying together gives us the chance to share our appreciation for each other. That's a lot of rambling to say - faith in Jesus Christ makes us stronger, kinder, more compassionate, more caring, more loving. It lifts us to a higher place, giving us the peace that is necessary to keep a marriage and family together. Show more Show less
