Hi I'm James

I'm a husband, a father of six kids, a Major in the U.S. Army, an avid sports fan, a computer geek, ..and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband to a beautful and loving wife. I'm a father to six beautiful and wonderful kids: 1 boy and 5 girls. (Yes, that's a lot of estrogen in the house...) I currently serve in the military as an Army officer, and have been in the service over 25 years. I am a son and son-in-law to wonderful parents. I am a brother to 2 sisters and 1 brother. I like to watch TV (political commentary, news, and sports), but more importantly, I like to spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have been a Mormon my entire life, I developed a strong sense of a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, His teachings, and His church early in my life. I read the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon, and prayed to find out if these things are true. I received a confirmation through the Holy Spirit. I know that living the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring me closer to Him and can lead to my being with my family forever. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know we have true and living prophet today. I am thankful for the Atonement of Christ and for the blessings I have in my life.

How I live my faith

I'm the Executive Secretary for our Bishop (~pastor) in our ward (congregation). I keep track of his calendar; set up interviews, prayers, and meeting agendas; and, participate in weekly meetings. At home, I'm a husband and father. I preside, with my wife, over our family. We try to have weekly Family nights; daily morning prayers and scripture reading; and family & individual council. I visit 3-4 families a month as part of being a Home Teacher. I try to be a friend, give counsel, and help where I can. As an individual, I try to: do what's right; pray and read the scriptures daily; attend church weekly; and, attend the temple as often as time permits. I try to be charitable and show love for others.
