Hi I'm Meg

I'm a Latter Day Saint. I grew up in the beautiful city of Oxford in England, called 'The Dreaming Spires.'

About Me

I was born in Oxford, have lived in Spain, but now back living in the South of England. I have 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren who all live abroad. I miss them. I took further education and acheived O levels in Art, English Language/Literature, a diploma in Double Entry Book Keeping, RSA Word Processing Cortex and Grade 2 with honours. I completed an Information Technology Course, and went on to do 18 years in Banking and Building Society as Chief Cashier. I was raised in Church of England my parents both being Sunday School Teachers. I spent 10 years in Evangelical Church until I met the Missionaries in 1982. I had been teaching 2 Moonies about Christ and settled them into a Bible based church so asked the Lord for another challenge to do more, I even considered joing the Convent as a Nun. Two weeks later the Mormon Missionaries knocked on my door. They had a hard challenge as my testimony in God and the Bible has been in my heart and soul from an early age. I raised both my children in a Christian home, they were also baptised. One was married in the London Temple and the other unfortunately went less active once she went to the USA to be a nanny. She is now divorced with a little girl to raise. I love them all very much.

Why I am a Mormon

After 12 weeks of questions and several spiritual experiences, I accepted the Book of Mormon as a 2nd testiment of Christ and went to the waters of baptism. My biggest problem was accepting God would instruct Nephi to kill, but after much prayer and testing, I knew it was for the sake of mankind to come. I know Joseph Smith was chosen to restore the Gospel to the earth and that all the other Living Prophets were called of Him. I am the first convert to my family so the challenges I have had to face and endure were hard, but worth it. I know my Redeemer Lives, I feel His love in my life and know I will see Him one day. I live the principals of the Gospel, and know that my life is much better for it. After training or a mission as Family History Consultant, I am now Ward Family History Centre Director and was blessed to be a 'catalyst' in Eastbourne. I am so pleased to be doing this important work and feel this is where growth in the church lies. We have 3 non members and 3 inactive sisters doing the work.

How I live my faith

I live by example and show my faith every day.
