Hi I'm August

I was born in St. George, Utah and moved around a lot because I was in a Navy family. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 3 children two daughters aged 19 and 17, and a son aged 12. I am working on writing a book on bullying for YA/Teens. I love writing, and hope to make it a career. I am very shy and when I make friends, they are usually lifelong. I love to learn about people, cultures, and history in the world. My favorite t.v. show is I Love Lucy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but I gained my own strong testimony, as a teen, of our Savior and the sacrifice He made for us; the love he has for us. The power of repentance, forgiveness, and my own growth as a person spiritually keeps me going when times get rough and has made me a very forgiving person. I see us all as spiritual brothers and sisters, and that has helped me to love everyone around me. Knowing where I came from and where I'm going gives me an inner peace that I couldn't find any other way than by being a mormon. It has made me a better mother, sister, daughter, wife, and person in society.

How I live my faith

I have had opportunities to work with the young children in my local ward of the church, as well as young adults. I have been inspired by the children and youth I've worked with and how they stick to the morals and principals they've been taught in the church, even with the evils/temptations of the world around them. I have visited other women of our church on a monthly basis, and fellowshipped with them, and discussed gospel topics and scriptures. In doing so, I have felt the uplifting spirit of serving others and learning from others. In the many jobs I've had in the church, I've grown as a person. I also have daily family prayer and family home evening with my family. In having family prayer, we learn the concerns of each member of the family and invite the spirit of the Lord into our home. Having family home evening, we become closer as a family, learning principles of the gospel and just plain having fun! I attend the temple when I can. It is an escape for me from the world and worries where I can find peace and tranquility.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes. I believe that there is a prophet alive today. God loves us and wants to communicate with us and help us, so he sent us someone that can talk for Him. Seeing everything going on in the world today, we need a prophet just as much if not more than Moses did.  Show more Show less
