Hi I'm Steve

I am originally from Sacramento, CA. I became a member of the LDS Church in 1979 while attending school in Philadelphia, PA.

About Me

As a child I had a love for music. I became a proficient trombone player and performed professionally while I was in my twenties and early thirties. After years of being a free lance musician, I had a desire to settle down. I decided to start teaching music in the public schools. I have been passing on my enthusiasm and love of music to high school and elementary students for the past 16 years. I obtained my license to be a principal and I am hoping to finish my education career in that capacity.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was studying music at an east coast conservatory in the United States, I became acquainted with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through a close friend of mine. He introduced me to some LDS missionaries, and they began to teach me about the fundamental principles of the Church. While they were teaching me, the feeling that what they were sharing with me was true came to me over and over again. I knew that God knew that I had a testimony of the truthfulness of what they were sharing with me, and that He expected me to act. After some encouragement from a dear acquaintance of mine, I chose to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by being baptized and confirmed. Being an active Latter-day Saint has been a great blessing to me personally and for my family.

How I live my faith

First and foremost I strive to implement the principles of my faith at home. Principles such as love, patience, and forgiveness have been priceless in developing strong family relationships with my wife and my children. I also strive to be an example of faith in the work place by being hard working, honest, and service oriented. At church I always have the opportunity to serve. Right now one of my primary responsibilities is to work with young single adults. It is very gratifying to share my life's experiences with them in an effort to assist them in making choices that will help them have a happy and fulfilling life.
