Hi I'm Bob.

I'm a family man who has found the path of happiness. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love hiking, bicycling, and eating ice cream. I enjoy quiet walks, reading a good book, and watching a beautiful sunset. I am profoundly grateful to live in a land of freedom where I can work according to my pleasure and worship Almighty God according to the dictates of my heart. I am a husband, father, and grandfather. My wife and I have ten wonderful children, five of whom are married and have families of their own. They are my greatest source of love, happiness and fulfillment. In all the world, my favorite place to be is home, my grandchildren are my favorite form of entertainment, and my favorite person to be with is my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

While growing up, my family and I attended a neighborhood church. I had a great love and respect for our pastor. I once asked him why there were no longer prophets and apostles on the earth? He simply responded: "Bob, there are just some things we don't have answers for." Although I appreciated his honesty, I still had cause to wonder. My family eventually moved to another area where I continued to search and inquire. I felt a growing need to be forgiven of my sins and to draw closer to the Lord. I felt very keenly that the day would come when I would stand in His presence, and I knew in my heart that I was not ready. It was during this time in my life that two young Mormon missionaries came to our home. Although they were not educated in a college seminary as was my boyhood pastor, they were able to turn to the scriptures and answer all my questions. As they taught me, I felt a warm and peaceful spirit and knew in my heart that their message was true. I learned about the apostasy that took place following the death of the apostles, and how the Church of Jesus Christ had been restored to the earth in our day with living prophets and apostles, modern revelation, and the authority of God to perform the ordinances of salvation, including baptism for the remission of sins. I learned about the Prophet Joseph Smith and the coming forth of The Book of Mormon: Another Testamant of Jesus Christ. A short time later, I was baptized by one having authority. Words cannot adequately express the blessings that have come into my life since that experience. No longer do I live in fear of the Lord's second coming nor do I wonder what life is all about. I know that we have a Father in Heaven who loves us and wants us to be happy. I also know that marriage is ordained of God and that families can be together forever through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the saving ordinances of His gospel. My greatest desire in life is to help others come to this same understanding and obtain all the wonderful blessings that a loving Heavenly Father desires to bestow.

How I live my faith

At the time I entered the waters of baptism, I made a covenant with the Lord to take upon myself His name, keep His commandments, and live a life of service. Because we have no paid clergy, there are countless opportunities for meaningful service and spiritual growth. I will never forget my first assignment to give a talk and how it strengthened my faith and confidence. Since that time, I have had many opportunities to serve each of which has brought great blessings into my life and that of my family.
