Hi I'm Danny

I'm a husband. I'm a student. I love the outdoors and sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm quiet and calm. I like to listen to people and help out where I can. I love being with my family more than anything! I have two brothers and two sisters, two amazing parents and an incredible wife! My wife and I have been married a little over a year. I love camping, hiking, canoeing, being outdoors and spending time with friends. I enjoy writing essays and creative short stories about anything that comes to my mind. I love sports! Basketball, football, rugby, volleyball, baseball, you name it, I'll play it! I'm also a student who is trying to figure out how to pass math classes and push through school!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church, but I still wanted to know for myself that it was right. I prayed and I received my answer through a peaceful feeling where I just knew that it had to be true. There are times when I need to find comfort and peace so, I turn to the Book of Mormon and flip through the pages, I find a lot of comfort with each verse that I read. I know that God wants us to return to him and I know he will lead us to where we need to be. I know He lead me to the path that I'm on right now.    I also grew up with the knowledge that families can be together forever. This is something that the LDS church teaches almost exclusively. I know that heaven wouldn't be heaven without my family. There is no way I could be happy forever without my wife by my side!

How I live my faith

A huge part of this faith is being able to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I try to do all that I can to be able to listen to the still small voice of the spirit. As I listen and pray, I know that Heavenly Father will answer my prayers and direct me through life. I don't mind taking time out of my day to serve someone in need if I see the opportunity. As we serve others, we serve God. Always pray to know how you can help those around you. As a missionary I helped others understand the fullness of Jesus Christ's Gospel. I have also served as a primary teacher, sunday school teacher, missionary prep teacher, young men's advisor, and a few other callings where I have had the opportunity to serve people in my local congregations. Holding a calling is also a great opportunity to learn from people who I serve with.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes, I do! God is unchanging and He has always called prophets throughout time. I believe that God loves us enough to call a Prophet for us in these last days. It's so comforting to know that we are guided by a Prophet today. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Only through the grace of Christ can we be saved, but that doesn't mean that you dont have to do good works! Faith without works is dead, so we have to show that we have faith by doing good works. By doing good works, we show our faith in Christ. By grace we are saved after all we can do.  Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Nobody is forced to serve a mission. When I turned 19 years old I had the choice to serve. Growing up, I was strongly encouraged by my family to serve a mission but they still wanted it to be my personal choice to serve. Many of my family members have served, and I chose to follow their example. Ive seen the blessings from serving, and I know that I made the right choice!  Show more Show less
